🚀 How to Get Groq API Key (Free)

Visit Groq Console

Open your browser and go to: console.groq.com/keys

You'll see the Groq login/signup page.

Sign Up (No Credit Card Required)

Click "Sign Up" or "Get Started".

You can sign up with:

Email address
Google account
GitHub account

No credit card required! The free tier is generous enough for most users.

Create API Key

After logging in, you'll be on the API Keys page. Click "Create API Key".

Give your key a name (e.g., "Velox") to help you remember what it's for.

Copy Your API Key

Once created, your API key will be displayed. It starts with gsk_...

Click the Copy button to copy it to your clipboard.

⚠️ Important: Save this key somewhere safe! You won't be able to see it again after you close this page. If you lose it, you'll need to create a new one.

Configure in Velox

Now let's add this API key to Velox:

Open Velox on your Mac
Click the Velox icon in the menu bar
Select "Settings"
Go to the "Speech to Text" tab
Select Provider: Groq
Paste your API Key in the API Key field
The Base URL and Model are pre-configured for Groq
Click "Test Connection" to verify

✅ You're All Set!

Now you can use Velox with free, ultra-fast transcription from Groq!
